Change to voting

The town’s election website now shows there will be in-person (paper or internet; your choice) voting at the Library, 3rd floor, on voting day, Oct. 24. The website notes:

NEW: Voting is now open! Vote on-line using your credentials provided in your Voter Information Letter, or come visit us on the Third Floor of the Collingwood Public Library, 55 Ste Marie Street (rear entrance) during one of the Advance Vote dates or on October 24, 2022.

It also notes that the voter turnout, as of Friday, October 14 at 10:05 a.m., the votes received were only 9.46% of the eligible voters. I believe this is lower than expected, and lower than the number of mail-in ballots received in the same time in previous elections.

The website has links to the Chamber of Commerce’s all-candidates meetings, filmed by Rogers TV, so you can watch them online. The council candidates (10 of the 12 candidates attended) is from Sept. 29. My speech starts at 0:22:00, with answers to questions at 0:32:45, 0:39:15, 0:48:57,0:58:35. and 01:07:41. My final comments come at 01:17:32.

Mayoral and deputy-mayoral candidates, filmed by Rogers on Sept. 27, can be seen online as well.
